Dear friends, our path is one of consistent effort. It’s not a “one-and-done” deal. We can’t sit on a meditation cushion once and reach enlightenment and then everything is great forever. Honestly, we wouldn’t want it to work that way anyway. Our practice is to keep coming back, again and again. To keep learning, unlearning, and approaching each day/moment with a calm mind and open heart. We need to forget any preconceptions about what the moment should be, and look at what is.

When we practice again and again and again and again, we start to connect a little easier, or at least more often. The only true problem in life is that of disconnect. When we are disconnected from each other, we suffer. When we are disconnected from our true self, we suffer. When we are disconnected from the present moment, we suffer. When we look deeply, when we can connect deeply, we are free from suffering.

May all beings be happy and free.
